Felted Geodes at Art Park al Fresco

With a little soapy water and wool roving we’ll be creating our own soft rocks which have gorgeous layers when cut in half. Danielle Olinger the outreach coordinator for School of Mines Museum of Earth Science will be on hand to tell us how geodes are formed, where to find them and other cool facts about rocks and minerals.

Part of the Art Park al Fresco series  this July and  August we'll be making a host of unconventional and totally cool interactive objects together, from building tiny Art Cars to making needle point graffiti- we'll be working in all types of mediums with art making for every age.  Workshops are free with all supplies included. Kids, teens and their adult friends are all encouraged to participate with individual and group projects.

We’ll have some snacks on hand and you’re also welcome to bring a blanket and picnic dinner to chill with us in the park.
