Art Cars at Art Park al Fresco

Some folks just can’t leave their art in a museum and would rather travel around with it or even inside of it!  In this workshop we’ll design our own tiny art cars using toys, googly eyes and other fun found objects.  Along the way we’ll talk about the phenomenon of art cars and roadside museums and other homegrown exhibits.

Ted Ax owner of Ax and Allies Automotive will be bringing his sunbeam Alpine that he fixed up in college to look like a Jame’s Bond car with licence plates that rotate and a fender that folds down to reveal a toy machine gun.

Part of the Art Park al Fresco series  this July and  August we'll be making a host of unconventional and totally cool interactive objects together, from building tiny Art Cars to making needle point graffiti- we'll be working in all types of mediums with art making for every age.  Workshops are free with all supplies included. Kids, teens and their adult friends are all encouraged to participate with individual and group projects.

We’ll have some snacks on hand and you’re also welcome to bring a blanket and picnic dinner to chill with us in the park.
